Kurt Angle and John Cena have a history together. They were rivals when John Cena was on the rise in WWE and Kurt Angle was on his way out, and they briefly rekindled their rivalry Sunday night at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.
John Cena returned for one night only as a member of Team SmackDown at the pay-per-view and he faced off against Raw General Manager Kurt Angle. Cena ended up getting eliminated from the match after Kurt Angle hit him with the Angle Slam, and many fans were surprised to see Cena get taken out.
The official WWE Twitter account recently posted a picture of Cena and Angle, saying that everything comes full circle, and Kurt responded with the following:
“Full circle. Nobody can deny these two are among the very best. Question is, will it occur again in a one on one??? We will see. @JohnCena”
Now that Angle is once again an active in-ring competitor a one on one match with John Cena isn’t out of the question. But we’ll have to wait and see if it happens sometime in the future.
