Kurt Angle is an Olympic gold medalist and a WWE Hall of Famer, but right now he’s not active inside the ring. Angle returned to WWE a few months ago for his Hall of Fame induction, and the night after WrestleMania he became the General Manager of Monday Night Raw.
Kurt has been a great addition to Raw as the General Manager, but fans are still hoping to see him get back in the ring and do what he does best. During a recent interview with foxsports.com.au, Angle said that he believes he will “most likely” return to the ring, but it’s up to Vince McMahon.
“I believe it’s a very good option. I would say I will most likely wrestle. I have not taken a physical yet. I’m basically waiting on the boss. It’s up to Vince McMahon. I would imagine I will. I’d imagine the storyline is going to go somewhere with Jason Jordan, so I’m just being patient and enjoying the general manager job. Hopefully, eventually I’ll get back to wrestling.”
The former World Champion has faced some of the biggest names in the history of WWE, but the WWE roster has changed since his departure in 2006, and there are quite a few new Superstars that Angle would like to step in the ring with.
“There’s talent I’ve wrestled already like HHH, (John) Cena, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton and ones I haven’t. The ones that come to mind are Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns. Dean Ambrose, Sheamus and Cesaro, Rusev — hopefully I’ll be able to mix it up with a few of those guys as well.”
