With the upcoming WWE brand split there are a lot of rumors going around claiming WWE has contacted many former stars about returning to the company. One of the names that has been making the rounds lately is Kurt Angle. Kurt was recently a guest on the Mark Madden podcast. and he confirmed that he did talk to Triple H recently, but he hasn’t been contacted about the brand split.
Kurt says he talked to Triple H about 6 weeks ago and it was a good conversation and the two sides are on good terms. When talking about a possible return Kurt said, “Will I return? Yes. I don’t know when.” He added that WWE has not contacted him about the brand split and he’s not expecting anything.
Angle was asked if he wants to finish his career in WWE and he told Mark Madden that he talked to Vince and Triple H about returning for a limited run. Kurt says he doesn’t know if WWE is in a position right now where they need older talent because they’re trying to push new stars. But he added that he spoke to WWE before the brand split was announced, and that he can still go in the ring.
According to Kurt he wants to wrestle part time for WWE for a while then hang up the boots and become a manager. He named American Alpha as a team he would be interested in working with.
