Kurt Angle has been General Manager of Monday Night Raw for a number of months now, and whilst he will finally reveal what the huge secret has been between Corey Graves and himself tonight, Kurt also recently shared some opinions that probably won’t be echoed throughout the backstage area.
Kurt recently took part in an interactive session on his Facebook page and was asked by a fan about the future of former WWE Champion CM Punk in both wrestling and in MMA.
Angle responded: “I hope he comes back. I think his MMA career is over. He needs to go back to what he does best!”
Punk has only ever had one official MMA match against Mickey Gall and he was easily defeated, there has been speculation that Punk could be preparing for a second, but nothing has been made official yet.
Punk hasn’t wrestled since he left WWE back in January 2014, and it isn’t through lack of options either, with almost every wrestling promotion interested in paying a lot of money for his services. It seems that right now Punk is interested in other things, but hopefully, that changes in the not too distant future, especially since someone like Angle is in charge of Raw, which could make all the difference.
Angle is one of the all time greats and so is CM Punk, Punk was coming through the ranks in WWE just before Angle left, which meant that these two were never able to collide in a one-on-one match in a WWE ring, which could be seen as motivation for Punk if he was ever thinking of returning to WWE.
