Kurt Angle is certainly familiar with WrestleMania as he’s wrestled some of the biggest names on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Angle has been retired from in-ring competition for years now, but during a recent episode of the Kurt Angle Show he had high praise for Pat McAfee’s performance at WrestleMania 38.
“Pat McAfee was the surprise performance at WrestleMania. I would’ve never expected him to do what he did, that was pretty amazing, especially for a non-wrestler. That jump to the top rope was impressive, and then the superplex? Wow! He has some good leaps, he’s a great athlete.”
During night 2 of WrestleMania 38 fans saw Pat McAfee pick up a win over Austin Theory and after the match he immediately challenged Vince McMahon. The Chairman of the Board then accepted the challenge and defeated McAfee by punting a football into him.
Kurt Angle last competed at WrestleMania 35 where he was defeated by Baron Corbin in his retirement match. He recently said that he would be interested in returning to TV for AEW or WWE if they came up with something that he felt was worth it.
