Kurt Angle has been involved in some classic matches throughout the course of his career, and he’s also been involved in some downright brutal matches.
At the King of the Ring pay-per-view in 2001 the former WWE Champion faced off against Shane McMahon in a match that quickly became infamous due to a spot that saw Kurt fail to put Shane McMahon through a glass panel as Shane bounced off. After another attempt Kurt got Shane through the glass, but the spot looked painful to say the least.
Kurt Angle recently opened up about Vince McMahon’s reaction to the match on the Kurt Angle Show, and he made it clear that the former CEO was not happy with him or Shane when they got backstage.
“Usually when I come back, he says great match and he gives me a hug. [After KOTR] He didn’t say anything. He didn’t say ‘You had a horrible match.’
“I think he was just p*ssed. And I think he was a little stunned at what occurred in that match that Shane took a rabid beating. And I think he was really concerned for his son. He wasn’t happy with either one of us is what I’m saying.”
