We’re only a few days away from Survivor Series, and a few weeks ago it seemed that Kurt Angle would have a big role to play at the pay-per-view, but it looks like that’s not the case anymore.
Originally Kurt Angle was fighting for the chance to be the captain of Team Raw, however this week it was confirmed that Team Raw will consist of Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, Bobby Lashley and Finn Balor.
Last week Drew McIntyre picked up an impressive victory over the WWE Hall of Famer, and Mike Johnson recently noted on PWInsider Elite Audio that the match was meant to write Angle out of WWE storylines for the time being (via Ringside News).
“I don’t know what the cause was for the change but a week ago was a week ago, the plan was for Kurt Angle to be in that match and not Finn Balor. So for whatever reason they decided with that Drew McIntyre match that they were writing Kurt out of storylines for now and Finn Balor was the one to take his place.”
At this point it’s not clear why plans changed, or what’s next for Kurt Angle.
