When Kurt Angle first returned to WWE a few years ago fans had a list of dream matches they were hoping to see, but Angle was only used sparingly in the ring.
The WWE Hall of Famer ended up feuding with Baron Corbin on the road to WrestleMania 35, and their rivalry led to Kurt Angle’s retirement match.
It’s no big secret that some fans weren’t satisfied with Kurt’s final match, and he recently indicated during an interview with Sports Illustrated that he hasn’t completely closed the door on in-ring competition.
“Right now, I can’t. Could my mind be changed? Yes, for two reasons. I’m working on my business, and I’ve been doing a lot of rehab on my body, trying to get myself back to where I’m able to live a healthy lifestyle. I’d been so banged up—my neck, my back, and my neck—but I’m making improvements. If I get to the point where I feel I can do it, then I’ll probably do it. But right now, I have to focus on my body.”
Kurt Angle was working backstage as a producer in WWE before he was released in April, and he noted that the release is a blessing in a disguise as he needed more time to work on his Physically Fit Nutrition business.
“It was almost a blessing in disguise that WWE released me. The business started picking up orders, and we’re at a point where I really need to be here.”
