Kurt Angle is certainly no stranger to championship gold as he’s won numerous world championships throughout his career as well as a number of other titles as well. However, some wrestlers go their whole career without ever winning a world title.
During his time with WWE, Claudio Castagnoli was known as Cesaro, and many fans called for him to be pushed to the main event. Even though he did challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship last year Claudio never won a top title during his WWE run. A few months ago Claudio joined AEW, and shortly after he became the ROH World Champion for a period of time.
Kurt Angle recently shared his thoughts on Claudio’s WWE run during an episode of the Kurt Angle Show, and he made it clear that he thinks Claudio should have won a world title multiple times in WWE.
“He [Claudio Castagnoli] should have been a five-time world champion before he left WWE. Not once did they give him the world title. I’m really surprised because that kid can do it all in the ring. He is the pound-for-pound strongest wrestler I’ve ever seen. The stuff he does in that ring is incredible … He’s Superman. He’s the real-life Superman.”
