Kurt Angle was the most recent guest on Jim Ross’ “Ross Report” podcast, and the two spoke about CM Punk and why he left WWE. You can listen to the show here.
Jim Ross disagrees with people who feel like Punk owes the fans some sort of farewell, and Angle joined him in that regard.
“I didn’t know that he was that banged up,” Angle admitted. “I have to respect the fact that he walked away, whether he comes back or not. The rumor was that he was upset with the booking, and he’s upset with these part-timers coming in, and taking the main spots at WrestleMania.”
Angle wanted to contact Punk and tell him as a full-timer, that sort of stuff wasn’t going to happen forever. He said there was going to be a time where Punk would have wanted to go part-time, too. He also stated there would be many opportunities for Punk to headline WrestleMania as a part-time worker down the road.
