Christmas Day this year was a special time of the year for Kurt Angle and his extended family. After Jason Jordan expressed more interest in wanting a piece of Samoa Joe after Seth Rollins gave his reasons for wanting some of the Samoan Submission Machine, Angle booked them in a tag team match for the Raw Tag Team Titles against The Bar.
What happened next was pretty much a Christmas miracle because Jason Jordan hit Cesaro with his elevated neckbreaker after a skirmish near the end of the match so The Architect and Kurt Angle’s baby boy walked away as the Raw Tag Team Champions.
After Raw went off the air, Kurt Angle made his way to the ring in order to congratulate his son on this big title win. Dave Meltzer said in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Jordan was going to be getting moved up the card and taking Dean Ambrose’s place while he’s out of action and it looks like that’s happening in a big way.
As you can see in the video, Jason Jordan got out of the ring and said, “I love you, dad” before the two embraced in a big sweaty hug. It was a great moment for Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle’s father/son storyline that’s for sure and Seth Rollins was there to lend credibility to the partnership as well.
On another note, Jason Jordan also set a pretty impressive record by picking up the Raw Tag Team Championships on the Christmas Day edition of Raw. JJ became the first person to hold the NXT, SmackDown, and Raw Tag Team Championships after he won the top tag team prize for WWE’s Red Team.
It was a pretty cool moment and seriously, Jason Jordan has worked his butt off to get where he is. So whether you love or hate the current “long-lost father storyline,” you have to respect Jordan for getting to where he is today. The guy’s in great shape and able to do a lot in this business. Kurt Angle is certainly proud and that should give you more than enough of a reason to be proud of him as well.
