It’s been a big week for wrestling fans, because on Tuesday WWE confirmed that Daniel Bryan has been cleared for in-ring action. Bryan has been retired for over two years, but now his dream of returning to the ring is about to come true.
Even though Bryan hasn’t been wrestling, he has been appearing on SmackDown Live as the General Manager. SmackDown Live star Kofi Kingston recently spoke to Sports Illustrated about Bryan’s return, and he praised Bryan for his passion.
“When it comes to wrestling, Daniel Bryan is just so passionate about being here,” said Kingston. “This is great news. Him being around as the GM and backstage, I know he loved that, but you can just see it in his eyes and you can feel how he wants to be in the ring. The fact that he can now safely compete is awesome for him. I’m really, really happy for him.”
Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston still have to be officially booked for WrestleMania 34, but Bryan is expected to team with Shane McMahon to take on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
As for Kofi Kingston, The New Day recently challenged The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at Fastlane, but the match ended early after The Bludgeon Brothers appeared and destroyed both teams.
It’s rumored that The Usos could end up defending their titles against The New Day and The Bludgeon Brothers on the Grandest Stage of Them All this year.
