Kofi Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan to become the new WWE Champion at WrestleMania 35, and now that he’s holding the belt there’s a target on Kofi’s back.
With Big E out of action, Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston recruited Kevin Owens as a honorary member of The New Day, but that partnership turned sour this week.
Kevin Owens turned on Kofi Kingston when he beat him and Xavier Woods down at the end of the show, and KO made it clear that he wants the WWE Title.
Kofi Kingston commented on the betrayal when he posted the following on Twitter:
“Sometimes you feel compelled believe in someone and give them a chance, even when no one else will. As unpopular a decision as it may seem at the time, you give them the benefit of the doubt…And Then that person proves everyone right. Mark my words, there will be Hell to pay.”
