Key Figures In WWE Creative Reportedly Hated Angle On SmackDown

This week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown aired live from Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and it featured the return of Giovanni Vinci.

WWE had been hyping up Giovanni Vinci’s return for a few weeks now, and he ended up facing off against Apollo Crews in a singles match this week on SmackDown. Despite the build up for Vinci’s return it ended up being uneventful as Apollo Crews quickly beat Vinci with a roll up shortly after the bell rang.

Following Giovanni Vinci’s return on SmackDown, WrestleVotes is reporting that there are a few key figures in WWE creative that absolutely hated the direction that the company took with Vinci on SmackDown.

Prior to being written off TV earlier this year Giovanni Vinci was a member of the Imperium stable. Ludwig Kaiser removed him from the group back in April. He was later drafted to SmackDown in the 2024 WWE Draft, and WWE started promoting his return to TV last month.
