Kevin Owens Returns, Kofi Kingston Pulled From WWE Title Match At Fastlane

It was recently announced that Kofi Kingston would be challenging Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at Fastlane, and this week Kingston and Bryan kicked off SmackDown Live with a big contract signing.

Kofi Kingston cut a promo thanking the fans for their support, and they were clearly behind him.

Things seemed to be going well, but then Vince McMahon interrupted the contract signing and announced that Kofi Kingston was going to be pulled from the match.

Vince said he had a more deserving opponent in mind, and he introduced Kevin Owens.

Kevin Owens then walked to the ring, sat down without saying a word and signed the contract for the Fastlane match.

After KO signed the contract, The New Day looked back with anger as they walked up the entrance ramp.
