There have been quite a few names released from WWE this year, and the company recently confirmed that AOP have been released from their contracts when they issued the following statement:
“WWE has come to terms on the release of Akam and Rezar (AOP). We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
Earlier this year AOP were on the receiving end of a big push when they aligned themselves with Seth Rollins, but unfortunately their push was halted and the team was put on hiatus when Rezar suffered a bicep injury back in March.
Kevin Owens was feuding with Seth Rollins when he aligned himself with AOP, and he knows a thing or two about what it’s like to do battle with them.
Owens reacted to their release when he posted the following on Twitter:
“Those guys beat the hell out of me for months…and I can say with complete honesty that I enjoyed every second of it.
Good luck, boys. Hopefully, we’ll share a ring again one day and if so, you can bet you have some receipts coming you way!”
