Why Kevin Owens Should Be The Man That Wins The Money In The Bank Briefcase

WWE’s annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view will be taking place next week and there are quite a few matches on the card for fans to be excited about. Roman Reigns will be defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins, AJ Styles will be facing John Cena, the Tag Team Titles will be on the line and of course the Money in the Bank briefcase will be up for grabs as well.

This year Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, Sami Zayn, Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro will all be trying to grab the briefcase in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Although the six men in the match are all talented and would make fine Money in the Bank winners, only one man will end up walking away with the contract. There’s certainly a case to be made for each competitor, but looking at the current WWE landscape, it would make a lot of sense for Kevin Owens to win the match and here’s why.

WWE Needs More Heels In The Main Event

We live in an age where fans love to cheer for the bad guys and it’s hard to blame them because bad guys are awesome. But Kevin Owens is one WWE Superstar who manages to get boos out of the crowd week after week. Kevin Owens isn’t trying to impress anyone, his job is to make people boo him and he does his job well.

WWE is always in need of credible heels in the main event and over the past year Owens has managed to turn himself into just that. Kevin Owens is evil and conniving and his heel persona helps to create compelling feuds. KO is good at telling stories with his feuds and if there’s one thing that the WWE Title picture needs it’s more compelling stories.

WWE is intent on keeping Roman Reigns in the title picture, and they’re adamant that Roman Reigns needs to be a face. That’s all well and good, but a face needs real enemies to challenge him and the WWE Title picture has a lack of bad guys at the moment and that’s a void that Kevin Owens can help to fill.

He’s Proved He Can Handle The Pressure

Kevin Owens doesn’t need to work on his in-ring skills, his mic work or his character, he already seems to have that figured out and he seems very confident in himself. The point is, Kevin has already proved that he has what it takes to be in a main event feud and he’s the safest choice to win this year.

With the brand extension coming up WWE is going to need to build a buzz around the Money in the Bank briefcase and Kevin Owens can help to do that. Owens created a huge buzz around the WWE brand when he made his debut last year and several major media outlets started covering his antics.

There was a lot of pressure on Kevin Owens during his feud with John Cena last year and he delivered. Since making his debut Kevin has been putting on solid matches week after week and he’s become one of the most consistent and reliable characters on the main roster.

Kevin Owens is a character that pushes a lot of buttons and gets a lot of people talking. he already knows how to get a reaction and he doesn’t need a briefcase to do it, which is exactly why he’s a good choice to win it. Kevin Owens’ ability to make people react would make his inevitable cash-in one to remember for sure.

A Title Win Could Open Up The Door For More Up And Comers

History has shown that the Money in the Bank briefcase winner has very good odds of becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion, but not everybody wins the belt. With that being said, if Kevin Owens does win the briefcase, it would be a mistake to have him lose when he attempts to cash in.

Owens has had several memorable feuds since he joined the WWE main roster and a Kevin Owens title win would only mean good things for some of the less established stars in the locker room.

Guys like Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose would likely have an easier time getting title shots thanks to their history with Owens. Putting them in a title feud with Kevin Owens would be less of a risk and more of a sure thing for WWE because they already know that these feuds connect with people.

A Kevin Owens WWE World Heavyweight Championship win could potentially bring some already established feuds into the main event, and as DDP used to say “That’s not a bad thing….that’s a good thing!”
