For months now Kevin Owens has been feuding with Cody Rhodes and he challenged The American Nightmare for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The champion managed to successfully retain his title as the match came to an end when Cody hit KO with the Cross Rhodes on a steel chair while the referee wasn’t looking.
After the show went off the air Kevin Owens put Cody Rhodes down with a package piledriver then took the Winged Eagle belt. As Kevin Owens was attempting to walk backstage he was confronted by Triple H who knocked the belt out of his hands then shoved Kevin Owens. The Prizefighter responded by shoving Triple H then they were separated as The Game walked off.
It doesn’t seem that Kevin Owens has any plans to let go of the Undisputed WWE Championship as he recently posted a photo of himself with the Winged Eagle belt along with a caption which said, “Mine.”
Owens also posted the following:
“*EXCLUSIVE: After getting screwed out of becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion by incompetent referees, Kevin Owens justifiably gets retribution on The American Person with an often imitated, never truly duplicated, PACKAGE PILEDRIVER just moments after Saturday Night’s Main Event goes off the air to send everyone home happy.
#SNME”
After Kevin Owens hit the package piledriver on Cody Rhodes, The American Nightmare had to be stretchered out of the arena. It’s not clear where things will go from here, but it’s probably safe to say that Rhodes and Owens still have some unfinished business.
