Wow, time flies doesn’t it? Can you believe that Kevin Owens has been working with WWE for a year now? Like we said, time flies. It was one year ago today that Kevin Owens made his debut in NXT at the NXT Takeover: R Evolution event. Owens defeated CJ Parker in a short singles match but that wasn’t why everyone was talking about Owens when the pay-per-view ended.
Another match which took place on the card was Sami Zayn vs Neville for the NXT Championship. Sami finally won the big one and it was a huge moment for him. Kevin Owens and Sami go way back so Kevin decided to make his way out to the ring to share the moment with his friend, but that’s when something awesome happened.
Owens turned on his longtime friend and proceeded to give him the beating of a lifetime. It was a moment that had us all glued to our TV screens. Kevin Owens debuted to much fanfare in NXT and by the end of the night he was getting booed out of the building.
Owens would go on to feud with Zayn and eventually win the NXT Championship. But now he’s making a name for himself on the main roster and he’s the current Intercontinental Champion. It’s amazing to see how far he’s come in a year but let’s take a step back and watch his NXT debut one more time.
