The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens has become heated in recent weeks and the two stars finally faced off at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Cody Rhodes managed to defeated Kevin Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship after he put Owens away with a Cross Rhodes on a chair. Saturday Night’s Main Event went off the air with Cody standing triumphant, but things took a turn for the worse shortly after the show ended.
After Saturday Night’s Main Event went off the air Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes and hit him with a package piledriver. WWE officials then made their way out to check on Cody Rhodes while Kevin Owens held up the Winged Eagle belt.
Kevin Owens left the ring with the belt as Cody Rhodes was being placed on a stretcher. Owens brought the belt back into the ring then stood on top of Rhodes’ lifeless body as he held up the belt once again. The American Nightmare was then stretchered out through the crowd.
The Prizefighter made his way to the back and Triple H confronted him before he could get backstage. He knocked the belt off KO’s shoulder and then The Game shoved Kevin Owens three times before Owens finally shoved him back. They were separated by referees as Triple H walked off through the arena.
