On Sunday night the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view aired live on the WWE Network and Braun Strowman defended his Intercontinental Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn in a 3 on 1 handicap match.
The match came to an end after Shinsuke Nakamura hit Braun Strowman with the kinshasa, and then Sami followed up with a helluva kick to win the belt.
Kevin Owens is someone who has a long history with Sami Zayn, and after the title win he took to Twitter to let Sami know he’s proud of him.
Kevin Owens posted the following on Twitter:
“You can complain all you want about how he won it or his attitude but Sami being Intercontinental Champion is long overdue.
The fact that he won it after growing hair that rivals Wayne Gretzky’s in his heyday makes it worth the wait though.
I’m very proud of you,
@SamiZayn”
