Kevin Nash Names Former World Champion Who Turned Down Chance To Join The NWO

When the NWO was first established it was Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. The NWO quickly became one of the most popular groups in wrestling history, and they also added quite a few members to their ranks.

The New World Order grew and grew for some time, and it seemed that everyone wanted to be a member of the group. However, Kevin Nash recently explained on his Kliq This podcast that he offered Booker T a spot in the group, but Booker ended up turning it down.

“I wanted Booker in that original [group] because I wanted a black athlete, I wanted a black man, and Book was a real dude, you know, and always has been. I remember I asked him, I said, ‘Book, would you join the nWo?’ He looked at me and said, ‘Big fella, man, Kev, I don’t wanna work that f***ing hard. You guys work every f***ing house show.’ I said, ‘All right…'”

A few years ago Booker T opened up about why he turned down an offer to join the NWO on his Hall of Fame podcast and he explained that he turned the offer down for a few reasons, one of which was that he didn’t want to get lost in the shuffle.

“But to actually be a part of the group, the nWo, it was just something that I did not want to be a part of. I didn’t want to be in the mix with a bunch of different guys, coming out to that one music. Sure, being a part of a group like that you gotta change your… just the way you work, the way you act and what not and that’s just not something I wanted to do. As well as, those guys, they ran it real hard and that might have been something that could have pulled me in as well and that’s not something I was about either. I was always a loner. I was about making money. I was about coming to work and getting my work done to the best of my ability every time I came to work. So it might have been a huge distraction with all those guys. Then the nWo, it morphed and became so big it blew up into two separate factions and for me to be a part of that I could see myself getting lost in the shuffle real quick.”

Do you think Booker T made the right call turning down an offer to join the NWO? Sound off in the comments below.
