All Elite Wrestling launched with a women’s division on day one, but it’s clear that the division is constantly developing and evolving.
The women’s division in AEW has been criticized at times, and a fan recently tagged Kenny Omega in a tweet and said that AEW dropped the ball by not signing Deonna Purrazzo, who recently joined Impact Wrestling.
The fan also said that Impact Wrestling’s women’s division is “10 times better” than AEW’s.
Kenny Omega responded to the tweet and said that he’s happy for Deonna. He then suggested the fan watch some AEW women’s matches when he posted the following:
“Truly happy for Deonna but I’m incredibly proud of our division and its athletes. You should try watching some of our matches. Start with the recent title match from a few days ago and then honestly tell me we need help.”
The fan respectfully said that he’s seen all the matches, and asked for the division to improve. Omega then went on to say that he disagrees.
“Some strong thoughts that I very much disagree with, but that’s completely fine. Watch what you enjoy, sir.”
