NXT Deadline aired live on Saturday night and the show kicked off with a major title match. Oba Femi challenged Ricky Starks for the NXT Championship, and Femi ultimately defeated Starks to win the NXT Championship for the second time in his career.
The action continued with the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge and it was Kelani Jordan and Kendal Grey who kicked off the match. Grey scored a point as the first five minutes came to a close, so Kelani was sent to the penalty box as Jordynne Grace made her entrance. Shortly after Kelani was released from the penalty box and she scored a point when she pinned Kendal Grey.
Lola Vice entered next. She pinned Kenadal Grey less than 30 seconds after she joined the match. When Kendal Grey was released from the penalty box she targeted Jordynne Grace. She tried to lock in an armbar on Grace, but ended up scoring a point when she rolled her up for a three count. Grey took the lead as she was the first competitor to score two points.
Jordynne Grace kicked the door open when she was released from the penalty box and ended up taking Kelani out with the door. Shortly after Kelani went for a crossbody off the top onto Grace who rolled her up for a three count. Sol Ruca attempted to enter the match, but Kelani attacked her before entering the penalty box. Sol Ruca was then helped to the back.
Kelani hit Jordynne Grace with a Spanish Fly from the apron to the floor as Sol Ruca ran down the ramp and attacked her. Sol Ruca connected with the Sol Snatcher on Kelani and Lola Vice at the same time. She pinned Kelani then pinned Vice to score two points. Kelani ended up pinning Grace to create a three way tie between herself Grey and Ruca.
Grace brought to a four way tie when she pinned Kelani then Vice scored a pin to create a five way tie. Sol Ruca hit the Sol Snatcher on Lola Vice on the floor then rolled her into the ring. However, Kelani took out Ruca then connected with a 450 splash on Vice. She tried to score a pin, but Grace broke it up. As the clock was counting down Kendal Grey scored her third pinfall on Lola Vice to win the match.
Kendal Grey will now go on to challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship at New Year’s Evil.
