Keith Lee’s run with NXT got a lot of people talking, and one year ago today Lee managed to become a dual champion when he defeated Adam Cole to become NXT Champion while he was already NXT North American Champion.
Lee defeated Cole during the Great American Bash Night 2, and he would hold onto the belt until he dropped it to Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver: XXX on August 22, 2020. The former champion was then called up to the main roster a few days later.
Apparently many fans were reminding Keith Lee of his special anniversary on Twitter today, as the Limitless One posted a message for his fans encouraging them not to quit on him.
“Many of you are reminding me of this day a year ago. So much has happened since then, it feels so long ago. Patience my friends….there is zero quit IN me. So don’t you quit ON me. I miss you. And I love you.”
Keith Lee last wrestled in February, and he was pulled from the US Title triple threat match at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view due to health reasons. Lee has previously stated on social media that he will explain his current situation at some point, but there is no word on when he will be returning.
