Back in February it seemed that Keith Lee had momentum on his side heading into the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, but he was pulled from the show and then he didn’t appear on TV until he recently returned to Raw.
There’s been a lot of questions surrounding Keith Lee’s absence, but the former NXT Champion cleared things up today when he released a video explaining that he was originally pulled from TV after he tested positive for COVID-19. Lee also explained that the only reason Mia Yim contracted COVID-19 was because she refused to leave his side as she wanted to care for him.
Keith Lee went on to say that he came back for one match against Matt Riddle on February 8th, and the next day he received a call telling him there was something off with his blood.
“Some people may have experienced this thing where there’s an inflammation in the heart or in the lungs, for me it was the heart and that led to very scary times. I was basically forbidden from training or any activity outside of a light walk, so there was a fear that doing more than that, that there was a chance that I could just up and pass away.”
Lee said he had several MRIs done on his heart, and WWE sent him to Pittsburgh. He said he was at the point where he almost had to undergo genetic testing because it was thought that he could have a heart disease. Eventually the inflammation went down, and over time things got better then he was cleared to get back into shape.
The former NXT star noted that now he plans to move forward and show what it means to be limitless.
