Over the last few years a number of big names have retired from in-ring competition. Triple H, The Undertaker and Goldberg have all hung up their boots for good, and John Cena is currently set to retire at the end of the year.
For decades Kane was consistently featured on WWE programming, but ever since 2018 he’s been focused on his duties as the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Kane has not stepped into the ring since he entered the Royal Rumble in 2021, which has left some to wonder if he could return at some point for a proper retirement match.
During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Kane was asked about possibility of him returning to the ring for a retirement match, and he indicated that his in-ring days may be behind him.
“I don’t know about that, man. Oh man. Brother, we were just talking about athleticism and movement and keeping up with the pace of people nowadays. That may have left me behind, guys.”
