There are reports that WWE wants Kane to be more recognizable as the star of SEE NO EVIL 2. One of the speculated reasons for the mask coming off was so that Kane could bring his Jacob Goodnight character from the movie to WWE. In the fall of 2013 this idea was tossed around as well.
While this is speculation right now, WWE Creative have been looking for ways to spice up the Kane character as they feel he’s lost some of his appeal with the way he’s been booked as of late. Bridging the Jacob Goodnight character along with the WWE on screen Kane character would help promote the movie and give Kane a fresh start.
See No Evil 2 has a release date of October 17th, in time for Halloween.
