Glen Jacobs is living a very different life nowadays. For decades now he’s spent most of his time working as Kane in WWE, but he’s currently focused on his duties as mayor of Knox County, TN.
Kane last wrestled when he teamed up with The Undertaker to face DX at Crown Jewel, and due to the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Crown Jewel was one of WWE’s most controversial events in quite some time.
There was a lot of pressure on WWE to move the event out of Saudi Arabia, but ultimately the company decided to stay the course.
Kane recently opened up about why he decided not to pull of out Crown Jewel during a Reddit AMA, and he noted that WWE donated $100,000 dollars to charity on his behalf, and he wasn’t willing to put the donation in jeopardy.
“Because WWE donated $100,000 to the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation which was arranged long before the controversy. I made a commitment to our local first responders, and I wasn’t willing to break that.”
At this point it’s not clear when Kane may be returning to the ring.
