The first ever Mae Young Classic came to an end Tuesday night in Las Vegas, and by the time it was all said and done, Kairi Sane defeated Shayna Baszler to win the tournament.
Kairi Sane recently spoke to Bleacher Report about her involvement in the tournament, and she revealed what she said to Shayna after the match was over.
“I respect her so much and I told her that,” Sane said. “I told her I was happy and I appreciated this chance. Both of us told each other, ‘Hopefully, we will have more chances, more competition in the future.'”
Kairi Sane has now joined the NXT brand and she’ll be competing in the NXT Women’s Championship match at NXT Takeover: Houston. Sane says that she wants to be part of the women’s revolution, and she wants more people to recognize women’s wrestling.
“The women’s revolution, I respect that very much,” Sane said. “I keep encouraging fans and, beyond that, women in general. I want to convey the message: women are strong. In the end, I want more people to know and recognize women’s wrestling.”
It’s been a little while since fans have seen Raw Talk on the WWE Network, and now that Talking Smack is no longer a weekly series, fans haven’t been able to get their WWE talk show fix.
But sooner rather than later fans will be able to see Raw Talk once again, because the next episode is set to air on the WWE Network after the No Mercy pay-per-view on September 24.
