Jushin “Thunder” Liger recently took part in an interview on NJPW’s website to promote his appearance at NXT Takeover: Brookyln this Saturday. During the interview Liger revealed how his match at NXT Takeover came to be.
He says that he was working a ROH show in Philadelphia and wanted to see Finn Balor perform at the NXT show in Philadelphia that same week. He contacted Matt Bloom (known to WWE fans as Tensai) who then got him a ticket to the show. Matt Bloom and William Regal then contacted him about working a match with NXT a few weeks later.
He said that the appearance is a one time deal and he made sure that NJPW was ok with the appearance beforehand. He also mentioned that he doesn’t know much about Tyler Breeze other than the fact that Breeze trained with Lance Storm. He went on to mention that Breeze must be “really good” if he trained with Storm.
