Jushin “Thunder” Liger’s match with Tyler Breeze at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn was originally believed to be a one time deal, but rumor has it that he may be working more dates for WWE.
A wrestling promoter mentioned to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that they attempted to book Liger for some upcoming dates but were told he had already booked those dates with WWE. No word on what the exact dates are.
This has led to speculation that Liger may have or will be signing a deal that allows him to work with the company while working indie dates. This would be similar to the original deal Samoa Joe signed with WWE when he first joined. It should be noted that Liger is still very much involved with NJPW and got their blessing before agreeing to the match at Takeover.
Tyler Breeze also mentioned on the most recent episode of NXT that he’s not done with Liger and that there will be a rematch.
