Jon Moxley was one of WWE’s top stars for years, but in 2019 he decided to jump ship to All Elite Wrestling after his WWE contract expired.
The jump seems to have worked out well for him, as he’s the current AEW World Champion, but with Moxley working in AEW it doesn’t seem to leave much hope for a Shield reunion at the moment.
Moxley recently spoke to Express about the possibility of The Shield reuniting in AEW, and he made it clear that he’s not ruling the idea out.
“Never say never. That’d be cool. We’re the absolute top company in the business. That’d be sick, all bets are off.”
The AEW World Champion also talked about the future of AEW and his hopes for the company.
“Who’s to say in five years where the business is? That’s the interesting part, maybe in five years we take over the whole wrestling business. It’s just really exciting to be part of something like this which is on the up and literally anything can happen. No matter what your question is, you always gotta give ‘never say never’. No matter how convinced you are the answer is no.”
