John Laurinaitis Told Released WWE Star He Was “Old” And “Fat” Before Firing Him

The last few years have been interesting to say the least as the the mass WWE releases have become a very hot topic in the wrestling world.

Even though WWE seems to be releasing Superstars at a rapid pace it’s certainly not uncommon for a talent to get cut once WWE feels they’re no longer a good fit for the company. Apparently that’s exactly what happened with Nick Dinsmore, formerly known as Eugene in WWE.

Nick Dinsmore started working as Eugene on WWE programming in 2004, and he was released in 2007. The former WWE World Tag Team Champion returned to WWE for a very brief run in 2009, and during an appearance on Cafe de Rene, Dinsmore explained why his return didn’t go very far.

“I showed up at my first TV and, granted, I was not in very good shape. I was expected to be in better shape than I was in. It f***ed me right away. Vince [McMahon said], ‘Get him out.’ Johnny Ace [John Laurinaitis] goes, ‘Nick, we’re not selling old, fat Eugene.’ ‘Okay, thank you…’”

“That’s the thing with Johnny, you knew right away. There’s very little bulls***. He’ll tell you. You might not like what he says, but at least with me [he was honest], that’s how I felt.”

Dinsmore later returned to work as a trainer for WWE in 2013, but he was released once again in 2014. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
