WWE recently announced that John Cena’s status for the Royal Rumble match was in question because Cena suffered an ankle injury during the fatal four way main event on Raw last week.
Earlier today the company revealed that Cena has officially been pulled from the Royal Rumble match, but WWE found a fan favorite to replace him.
Cathy Kelley has confirmed that Braun Strowman will be replacing Cena in the match. Originally Strowman was set to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble, but he was pulled from the match the same night Cena competed in the fatal four way.
