John Cena appearances on WWE programming are few and far between nowadays, but it was recently announced that the 16 time WWE World Champion will be returning to Friday Night SmackDown on September 1st. It was also announced that Cena will be returning to the ring at WWE Superstar Spectacle in India on September 8th.
Now WWE has confirmed that John Cena will be teaming up with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to face Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci of Imperium. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens will also be in action at Superstar Spectacle as they’re currently set to defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against Indus Sher who will be accompanied by Jinder Mahal.
John Cena last competed in the ring when he challenged Austin Theory for the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 39 back in April. Unfortunately for Cena he was defeated by Austin Theory on the Grandest Stage of Them All, but Cena will have the chance to add another win to his resume at Superstar Spectacle next month.
Stay tuned for more updates on John Cena’s WWE return as they become available.
