John Cena appearances on WWE programming are few and far between nowadays, but following Cena’s return to the ring during the final SmackDown of 2022 everyone has been wondering whether or not the former WWE Champion will be competing on the Grandest Stage of Them All this year.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that John Cena vs. Austin Theory is one of the matches that’s been locked in for WrestleMania 39. There’s currently no word on whether or not Austin Theory vs. John Cena will be for the United States Championship as Theory is currently set to defend his belt inside the Elimination Chamber later this month.
Recently it was reported that John Cena will be in Australia filming a movie with Zac Efron throughout February and March which makes it seem unlikely that Cena will have a lot of time to build up a WrestleMania match beforehand.
It was also recently reported that Cena filmed some content with Theory, so it will be interesting to see how it all comes together. Stay tuned for updates.
