John Cena’s Match Confirmed For WWE SummerSlam, Updated Card

Last week on WWE SmackDown Live, John Cena faced Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event, and the two stars fought for the right to challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam on August 20. Shinsuke Nakamura managed to put Cena away with the Kinshasa, and after the match Baron Corbin tried to attack Nakamura, but John Cena made the save.

This week on WWE SmackDown Live, John Cena kicked off the show, and he praised Shinsuke Nakamura for picking up the victory last week. Just as John was talking about how much he respects Shinsuke, Baron Corbin’s music hit and he started cutting a promo on John Cena. John told Corbin that he’s just going to tell him how it is, and he called him a dumpster fire as the crowd chanted “dumpster fire.”

Corbin started to walk down to the ring, but then he held up his Money in the Bank briefcase and walked away. The crowd continued to chant “dumpster fire.”

Baron Corbin told Cena he doesn’t need to beat him in a match because he has the Money in the Bank briefcase. He said Cena wasn’t worth his time, and he tried to leave but Daniel Bryan stopped him.

Bryan then announced that Corbin will face Cena at SummerSlam.
