On Sunday night John Cena made history when he defeated Cody Rhodes to win his 17th WWE World Championship. The next night John Cena appeared on Monday Night Raw, and his old rival Randy Orton snuck up behind Cena and hit him with the RKO out of nowhere.
John Cena kicked off Friday Night SmackDown this week, and he called ring announcer Mark Ash into the ring. Cena made Mark announce him as the Last Real Champion then told him to leave. Before John Cena could speak Randy Orton’s music hit and The Viper made his way down to the ring.
Randy Orton told John Cena that in a few months it will be 25 years since the first time they shook hands. He said over the course of 25 years Cena never changed until a couple months ago. Orton talked about how generations of people looked up to John Cena.
The Viper said John Cena that he has a void that needs to be filled and he’s figured out how to fill it. Orton told John Cena he needs to have kids, and become a father because it will make him become a better human being. Cena’s face got serious as he looked at Randy Orton and said, “How dare you?” Cena was clearly unhappy as he berated Orton for parent shaming him.
John looked at the audience and said the real reason he doesn’t have kids is that he spent 25 years raising theirs, and he’s been a better parent than they could ever be. He told a kid in the crowd that his dad is a loser and the kid gave Cena the finger.
Randy Orton reminded John Cena that the fans are the reason he’s here, and the reason he made it in Hollywood. The Viper said when it comes to WWE he’s a piece of furniture because he’s here to stay, but now John Cena is a guest.
Cena continued to rip on the fans as Randy got frustrated. Orton told Cena that he was stupid to think that he would listen to his words. Cena said that when he takes his 17th title home, Randy Orton’s record will be frozen at 14, and if he wins whatever new title WWE creates his counter will start over at 1. He told Orton that when he leaves he’s going to make sure 3 generations of the Orton family get erased.
The Viper challenged John Cena to put the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line tonight. Cena declined then proposed that they face off for the title at WWE Backlash in St. Louis. He told Randy Orton to rest because he wants The Viper at his best, so when he fails he’ll have no more excuses.
Cena threw the title belt at Orton and attacked him as The Viper tried to catch it. John tried to hit Randy with the belt, but Randy ducked and countered with the RKO. Orton held up the belt in the corner as the segment came to an end.
