Back in January, John Cena kicked off his big retirement tour and it’s been an interesting ride so far. Cena turned heel at Elimination Chamber, and he went on to make history when he defeated Cody Rhodes to win his 17th championship at WrestleMania 41. Everyone knows that John Cena’s career will be wrapping up at the end of the year, but so far plans for his final match have yet to be confirmed.
John Cena recently spoke to The New York Post’s Page Six about plans for his retirement match, and he confirmed that it will take place in mid-December. However, the current Undisputed WWE Champion also noted that the location for the match has yet to be determined.
“My last match will be in mid-December. We’re still trying to find a place to do it. I said 36 dates in January, we’re halfway through. And, gosh, it’s been a lot of compelling TV. And I don’t want to spoil it for anybody, but I think we’re just getting started.”
Cena recently defended his title against CM Punk at Night of Champions, and it was Cena who ended up picking up the win. Cody Rhodes also won the King of the Ring tournament during the PLE to set up a Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena rematch at SummerSlam.
As of this writing John Cena only has 15 dates left on his WWE schedule to it will be interesting to see how things play out with his character over the next few months.
