Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa faced off in the first match of the night and Roman defeated Solo to regain possession of the Ula Fala.
John Cena was up next and he made his way down to the ring to a big reaction from the fans. He told the fans that their audience just got a lot bigger, and now their electricity is felt across the world. The former WWE Champion said he couldn’t think of a better place to start his farewell tour than in Los Angeles. He talked about his history in the area and how he won his first WWE Championship in LA. Cena thanked the Los Angeles fans and they once again responded with “thank you Cena” chants.
Cena named a few people he could potentially face such as Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, Logan Paul and Cody Rhodes. He said everyone is asking at what point during his retirement tour he’ll win his 17th world championship. The fans chanted “you deserve it!”
John told the fans that he doesn’t see a title win happening because of the streak. Cena pointed out that it’s been 2,446 days since he lost his last match, and it’s ok, he’s at peace with it because his time is up, and their time is now. The fans expressed disappointment as Cena explained that a 17th world championship is never going to happen. He followed up and said you can “never say never” but his chances of winning another title are as good as his chances of winning an Oscar.
Cena said with his streak he would have to win the Money in the Bank, Elimination Chamber, or the Royal Rumble. The fans cheered. John said it’s a crazy idea, but maybe he can win the Royal Rumble. John Cena Cena told the fans that the best way to thank the fans is to win the Royal Rumble and make history at WrestleMania.
