Everyone knows that a world title win can change a wrestler’s career and a Money in the Bank cash in is a great way for an up and comer to win the big one. Jake Hager formerly wrestled in WWE as Jack Swagger and he managed to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when he cashed in on Chris Jericho.
During an appearance on Talk Is Jericho, Jake Hager talked about his Money in the Bank cash in, and he claimed that John Cena straight up refused to drop the belt to him.
“The night before [Hager’s cash-in on Jericho], I teased it on RAW where I would almost hit Cena with the briefcase. I snuck up on him and then we had one of his brilliant promo segments. Later come find out he refused to do the job for me for the world championship, but we won’t talk about that.”
Jake Hager made his debut on WWE programming when he joined the ECW brand in 2008 and he went on to win the ECW Championship, World Heavyweight Championship and United States Championship. He parted ways with WWE in 2017 and went on to make his AEW debut in 2019.
