John Cena certainly doesn’t seem to be starting off the new year on the right foot. Cena announced via Twitter that he’s heading to Alabama tomorrow to have surgery.
Rather upside down start to 2016 as tomorrow I will head to Birmingham for shoulder surgery. Life's full of set backs but #nevergiveup

According to PWInsider, Cena is having surgery for a torn rotator cuff. Due to the time it will take for Cena to recover from the surgery it’s expected that he will miss WrestleMania 32. It was recently reported that the plan was to have John Cena face The Undertaker at the big event, but obviously that plan will have to change. If he misses this year’s show, it would be the first time since WrestleMania 20 that John Cena hasn’t had a match at WrestleMania.
No word right now on what caused the injury, but the last match Cena wrestled was against Alberto Del Rio at the WWE live event on December 30th.
Great job on hiring Del Rio back. He’s really making a difference.
