John Cena announced on The Today Show that he has been chosen to host the 2017 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Hosting an awards ceremony is not a new thing for “the face that runs the place” as he hosted the ESPY awards last year. The 2017 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards is scheduled for Saturday March 11th.

There is no word yet on how much Cena is expected to participate in the event, but odds are that he’ll be taking a bucket of slime to the head at some point during the show.

“Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards is the biggest party for kids, and I’m so excited and honored to host this year’s show,” Cena told WWE.com. “I have a lot of big surprises in store so bring on the slime!”

John Cena posted the following:

The Rock recently starred in Disney Pictures’ “Moana” and the film has received a great deal of critical and commercial success. Dwayne Johnson voiced Maui in the film. Maui is a legendary shape-shifting demigod who helps the titular character along her journey.

The film has made over 510 million dollars on a 150 million dollar budget ,and hasn’t even had a taste of the DVD or digital release market yet. News for the animated picture has only gotten better as “Moana” is now nominated for two Academy Awards.

“Moana” is nominated for best animated film alongside “Zootopia,” “Kubo and the Two Strings,” “My Life as a Zucchini,” and “The Red Turtle.”

“Moana” also received a nomination for best original song for “How Far We’ll Go” by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Other nominated Films in this category include “Trolls,” “Jim: The James Foley Story,” and two songs from “La La Land.”

The ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 26th with Jimmy Kimmel as host.
