John Cena is a 16 time WWE World Champion, and he’s accomplished just about everything there is to accomplish in WWE. He’s won the Royal Rumble, he’s main evented WrestleMania, and he’s faced some of the biggest names in the industry. Now it seems that Cena is set to take over another industry, as his star has been on the rise in Hollywood over the past few years.
Cena has found success with roles in comedy movies such as “Trainwreck” and “Sisters” and he recently landed a lead role in the upcoming Transformers spinoff “Bumblebee.”
Now ScreenRant is reporting that John Cena is being eyed for the role of Michael Knight in an upcoming “Knight Rider” reboot film. The role was originally played by David Hasselhoff in the television series, and according to the report, Kevin Hart is being considered for the voice of his artificially intelligent car KITT.
The reboot is being conceived as a comedy in the same vein as the “21 Jump Street” reboot which was directed by Chris Lord and Phil Miller.
As of right now neither star has officially been cast, but they are being considered for the roles by the Weinstein Company. There’s currently no word on whether or not the comedy would be R-rated.
