The Royal Rumble is only a few days away and once the premium live event comes to an end we’ll officially be on the road to WrestleMania. There’s a lot of speculation regarding the card for WrestleMania 40, but so far nothing has officially been announced.
Last year at WrestleMania 39, John Cena challenged Austin Theory for the United States Championship. Unfortunately for Cena it was Theory who walked out with the gold.
At this point in time there’s been no word on whether or not Cena will compete at WrestleMania 40, but he was asked about his status for the event during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, and he didn’t rule out a possible appearance.
“I don’t know if I’ll be free that weekend, but it is a weekend and movies don’t shoot on the weekends. But when I say I’m done — in WWE, they say never say never and a lot of people retire and come back — I’m just being honest with myself. There’s such a great new generation now as well. It’s time to pass the electric energy on to the folks that can be there every day.”
