John Cena is the measuring stick in WWE and people are often placed up against Big Match John just to see how they can stack up. Cena has “made” several wrestlers before who are still enjoying great runs at the top to this day. Now Cena has another chance to make a Superstar before SummerSlam rolls around.
WWE has booked John Cena vs Jinder Mahal for the go-home SmackDown Live show before The Biggest Party Of The Summer. This will be a nice little cherry on top of what has already been a great roller coaster ride toward SummerSlam and will hopefully put a bow on things in some regard.
Fans who were upset we didn’t get to see John Cena take on the Modern Day Maharaja will now get a chance to see this match take place. Jinder Mahal will be putting his WWE Championship up against Shinsuke Nakamura at SummerSlam, but John Cena wants a taste of Jinder’s greatness before then.
It will be interesting to see how well these two work together and this could very well be a match Vince McMahon pays close attention to. After all, Vince likes muscles and there will be more than a few abs in the ring on Tuesday night. It might also be Cena’s last match on SmackDown Live before jumping over to Raw, so who knows how it will all go down for the future Bumblebee star.
Who knows that kind of finish this match will have because everyone could use as much heat as they can get heading into SummerSlam. If Baron Corbin jumped in to cause a DQ and beat down Cena with the help of Mahal it wouldn’t be surprising. This could give Shinsuke Nakamura a chance to run down and clear the heels out of the ring. Of course, they could go any number of ways so we’ll just have to tune into SmackDown Live to find out.
SummerSlam can’t come any faster, that’s for sure and fans will get a little big match feel on SmackDown Live to tide them over until Brooklyn.
