Whether you like it or not, Jinder Mahal is the reigning WWE Champion, and it doesn’t look like his run as champion is going to come to an end any time soon. Sunday night, Jinder Mahal defended his WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura at Hell in a Cell, but Jinder was able to pull off a big win and retain his belt.

Jinder Mahal has been WWE Champion ever since he defeated Randy Orton to win the title at Backlash in May, and he’s now in the history books. Mahal’s reign has lasted longer than both of Ric Flair’s two WWE World Championship reigns combined, and now he’s passed yet another record.
As of today Jinder has held the belt for 141 days, meaning he has surpassed AJ Styles’ 140 day WWE Championship reign.
Ironically enough, Styles also won the title at the Backlash event last year when he defeated Dean Ambrose. AJ Styles then held the belt through the 2017 Royal Rumble where he dropped it to John Cena when Cena won his 16th WWE World Title.
It’s also worth noting that Mahal has held the title longer than Eddie Guerrero who held the belt for 133 days. He’s also held the belt longer than Edge whose 4 WWE Championship reigns lasted a total of 139 days combined and longer than Roman Reigns who held the belt for 118 days throughout the course of his 3 title reigns.
WWE has confirmed that Jinder will be appearing at the upcoming live events taking place from India in December, so it seems likely that he will hold the belt until then.
