Jinder Mahal is the current WWE Champion, but he might not be holding the title after Sunday night. The Modern Day Maharaja is set to defend his WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura at SummerSlam on Sunday night, and he’s got his work cut out for him.
Mahal is a busy man nowadays, and he has been spending time with MMA fighter Arjan Bhullar who is set to fight Luis Henrique at UFC 215. Arjan recently posted a photo of himself with Jinder Mahal on Instagram, and in the caption he said that he was, “excited to announce @wwe Champ @jindermahal will be taking time away from his busy schedule to accompany the Team for my debut fight in his home province of Alberta.”
Jinder Mahal will be in attendance for the event, but he recently told Sportskeeda that he will not be accompanying Arjan Bhullar to the ring.
“Actually it got reported a little bit wrong. Everybody said that I am going to walk Arjan Bhullar to the ring. I’m just going to be in attendance’. I will be there in attendance. I will be there cheering him on. So that’s my only involvement. You know, (he is a) good friend of mine. Also first Indian UFC fighter, so I’m very happy for that. I wish nothing but success to him. I will be there only cheering him on.”
So it looks like Jinder will just be sitting in the crowd at UFC 215, and it will be interesting to see if he brings his WWE Championship with him, if he still has it after Sunday that is.
