Finn Balor became the first ever WWE Universal Champion at SummerSlam on Sunday night, and after the event ended it was reported that Finn was seen in a sling, and he may have suffered some sort of injury.
In his latest WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross noted that the reports are true. He posted the following on JRSBBQ.com:
“Reports of Balor injuring his shoulder during the title match are true and WWE will determine the extend of the injury ASAP. Hopefully, Finn won’t need surgery which would be extremely unfortunate.”
According to Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com, it’s believed that the injury occurred when Seth Rollins powerbombed Finn Balor into the barricade. Balor is scheduled to be evaluated today and there’s fear that he may need surgery.
As for the match itself, Ross noted that he thoroughly enjoyed it.
“Thoroughly enjoyed Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins and this was an other finish that pleasantly surprised me as I predicted that Rollins would get the duke in Brooklyn. Great main roster, career launching victory for the Irish lad who has an unlimited upside. Hats off to Rollins who helped facilitate Balor’s reign as the first ever Universal Champion who arguably has the most controversial looking title belt in recent memory in the business. The belt seemed to turn heel before our very eyes on the broadcast which is actually funny when one thinks about it.”
Finn Balor and Charlotte both appeared on Good Morning America this morning and you can check out a video from their appearance below.

The title looks fine.
Think it’s a little less than fine, so “barely OK” might do it.
I’ll settle on that.
